A Fair Isle ‘toorie’ hat

I love the contrasts in this fair isle hand knitted hat which does brighten up a dull November day in Shetland. I have made this design a couple of times as a male colleague admired it, so I made him up one. It is great for wearing  when walking his dog in the wilds of the island of Yell he told me and it is a good fit.  He told me his teenage daughter loved it also which is nice to know that the design suits them both! I find that it is very easy to adjust the size to suit smaller and larger sizes of individual head quite easily with leaving out a pattern to have a smaller one and having less loops on the ribbing.
